My yes, it has. I’ve been recharging my batteries a bit, and I am pleased to say I had not one case of pneumonia in 2018.
So what have I been doing? Raising and then butchering two batches of meat birds, taking care of the layers – one of whom turned out to be a sir instead of a miss, but as long as he is not overly aggressive toward me or anyone else, I’ll let him stay. The moment that changes, he’s off to the stewpot.
I also took a break from the gardens, mainly out of necessity, since while I did not have pneumonia last year, I did get very sick right at the most important time of the season: spring. So, I did nothing with the gardens, and have been sowing cover crop seed in the rows. I’ve also decided to disassemble the sides of the rows out of safety concerns, but more on that at another time.
Lots of reading. Not so much writing, but I’m moving to change that.
No eating, of course, but I have been doing some baking – breads, both italian and baguettes. The latter have been the best I’ve ever made, and they vanish quickly.
That’s it for now while I continue to get myself sorted. Until next time, peeps: be well.
